Friends,

When I was a kid, I’d hurry to the old Weymouth Landing movie theater on Saturday afternoons, excited to see the latest Superman episode that ran ahead of the feature. Afterwards, I’d take the railroad tracks home…flying all the way.

I decided to become an actor at age 22. My imagination had been filled with the performances of Montgomery Clift, Steve McQueen, Geraldine Page, Darren McGavin, Marlon Brando, Anne Bancroft, Paul Newman, Lee J. Cobb, Karl Malden, Eli Wallach, Eva Marie Saint, James Dean. They BECAME their parts. My admiration for their work brought me to New York to study at the Neighborhood Playhouse and then, to the Actor’s Studio. There, I had an opportunity to study the technique that guided these actors. I hoped to learn to create a reality on stage and screen “as if it were happening for the first time”. I continue to work toward that goal today and, when the camera rolls, I still feel like that kid flying down the tracks.

When I look at the images on this website, I savor the many moments I’ve had with my fellow artists. I am forever inspired by the richness and diversity of the human condition, with all its warts and glories.
